The Australian and New Zealand Conference on Optics and Photonics (ANZCOP) presented annually by the Australian and New Zealand Optical Society (ANZOS) is the primary domestic conference for optics research in our two countries. The ANZCOP series integrates several former events including ACOFT, ACOLS and the AOS conference, and has been running under one of these banners since the first Australian Laser Conference in 1978.

We are excited to welcome delegates back to Aotearoa New Zealand after eight years since ANZCOP was last in ‘the land of the long white cloud’ in 2017.  This year the conference will be held at the University of Auckland and is open to submissions from all areas of contemporary photonics, optics and quantum technologies. Previous sessions have included astronomy, communications, fibre optics, laser physics, photonic integrated circuits, active photonics,  biophotonics, nanophotonics, non-linear optics and photonics, optical sensors, quantum biotechnology, and quantum sensing.

With 2025 announced as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (https://quantum2025.org/en/) we will have a strong focus to celebrate New Zealand & Australia’s contribution to Quantum Physics, Quantum Technology and Quantum Computing. The conference topics include:
